The Indian Institute for Human Settlements IIHS-led Tamil Nadu Urban Sanitation Support Programme TNUSSP, in collaboration with the IHE-Delft Institute for Water Education, had organized a three-day residential training programme for working professionals and students aiming for a better understanding of Fecal Sludge management (FSM) in urban India from 16-18 December.
The training emphasized safe treatment, policy, behavioural change and management aspects cutting across the FSM value chain The training programme consisted of a mix of a classroom session and field visits. Participants from all over India and with varied background were part of the training. A representative from Urban Sanitation project of the Keystone Foundation had actively participated and benefited from the programme.
