ER Workshop: A Platform for Environmental Action
The ER Workshop, hosted at Keystone Foundation on 21st November 2024, brought together elected representatives (ERs), ward members, and the vice president of Nedugula Panchayat to discuss urgent environmental and community issues.
This workshop served as a critical forum to address challenges arising from deforestation, climate change, and unsustainable practices, which have disrupted traditional lifestyles, agriculture, and the ecological balance of the region.
The agenda focused on fostering an open dialogue to:
- Identify pressing environmental and community challenges.
- Share insights and expertise.
- Formulate actionable solutions tailored to the local context and resources.
Participants from Nedugula Panchayat actively contributed their perspectives and local knowledge. Their involvement was instrumental in proposing sustainable practices and strategies to mitigate climate change’s effects while preserving the region’s natural and cultural heritage.
Community Workshop: Empowering Local Solutions
The Community Workshop, conducted on 22nd November 2024, focused on addressing critical issues related to climate change and local resource management. Inaugurated by Ward Member Mr. Manoharan, the event saw the enthusiastic participation of over 50 attendees, including senior citizens, youth, and local leaders.
Representatives from Milithen Hatty, Lili Hatty, and Kerkambai villages actively engaged in the discussions, reflecting the community’s shared commitment to tackling environmental challenges.
Supported by the local panchayat, the workshop aimed to:
- Raise awareness about the impact of climate change on local ecosystems and resources.
- Encourage community-driven solutions for sustainable practices.
- Strengthen traditional practices in preserving biodiversity and building resilience against climate issues.
The workshop’s success highlighted the community’s readiness to work collaboratively and take proactive measures to safeguard their natural heritage and ensure a sustainable future for the next generations.
