A knowledge exchange workshop on agroecology was organized for Misereor Partner Organisation (MPO’s) in Bangalore on the 20th and 21st of June 2024.

The workshop was facilitated by consultant Marita Ishwar.

The MPOs that participated were Agriculture, Man and Ecology(AME), Bangalore, and Keystone Foundation. Keystone Foundation was represented by Mahadesha, Sriram and Leo.

Th purpose of the workshop was to examine how relevant information and sharing of knowledge of sustainable agro ecological practices can be exchanged. It was also used to explore potential fields of collaboration, and develop more contextual, effective and appropriate medium of communications amongst MPOs.

Key activities adopted: 

• Each organisation was asked to present their track of experience as Achievements, Challenges and Turning points through posters.

• Learning through posters- participants have gone through every posters to learn innovative methods adopted by MPOs

• Need for an effective learning and exchange network is agreed upon by all MPOs

• Identification of potential learning opportunity 

• Tentative, relevant period amongst learning amongst MPOs is identified.

b) Building capacity on community enterprises and marketing 

c) Process of community radio and functioning

d) PGS certification process

Keystone wants to build capacity form MPOs

a) Farmer’s school

b) Shakky-farmer system

c) Carbon credit-achieved for decomposers by SSP

One suggestion for the next workshop would be to have organizers provide a slot for photos, Powerpoints and audiovisuals from MPOs, allowing for effective learning.
