On September 9th, members from Keystone, including the UK Pact team, met with Dr. P. Senthil Kumar, the Principal Secretary to Government for the Department of Environment, Climate Change, and Forests in Tamil Nadu. The Keystone group comprised of Pratim Roy, Sumin George, Sara, Robert Leo, Akhil Sivadas and Gunashekar M.
Pratim Roy and Akhil Sivadas introduced the UK PACT supported community-based MRV (Monitoring, Research, and Verification) project to Dr. Senthil Kumar. They presented the objectives, expected outputs, outcomes and progress of the project since its inception. They also showcased the prototype of the MRV dashboard and mobile application that is being developed for the communities to collect, process and display information related to the ecosystem and their socio-economic status. The team will be giving a detailed technical presentation on 29th October 2024 at his office in Chennai, where we expect participation from other departments, UK FCDO and knowledge partners of the government, such as WRI India.
