Sanitary workers as frontline workers need constant orientation and helpful advice to carry out their crucial work that keeps us and our localities safe while risking their lives.
Our interventions in the urban local bodies we work in – constant engagement and session have been the norm since the pandemic began. Through the session we have the opportunity to understand their mental and social wellbeing during these uncertain and once in a lifetime pandemic situation.
In this recent session that our TNUSSP staff conducted – close to 450 sanitary workers (women & men) partook in a session aimed to stress on two main things – protection through PPE kits and importance of nutritious food for better immunity. These sanitary workers were the same ones that were identified over the last two months to whom food kits and immunity boosting tablets have been provided to periodically.
