The important documentation work done by our independent initiative Radio Kotagiri highlights the role of locally based community media in raising awareness of important topics concerning the Nilgiris and highlighting community stories. Over the weekend, Radio Kotagiri facilitated this lovely wall art in Kotagiri town as part of an ongoing project by Grounded Imaginaries, which seeks to amplify stories of community resilience and action in response to climate change. Our other partners that made this possible are Green Alliance for Green and Gender Action (GAGGA), Swachh Survekshan and local authorities, namely the town panchayat and Highways Department. The team of artists behind the work include Aarthi Kannan, Aravind K. and Anna Rose Thomas.
