This year, World Museum Day was celebrated on May 18, with the theme being: “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities”. Aswathy shares how the Nilambur office celebrated the day:
We celebrated International Museum Day in our office today. We were able to have a discussion focused on the topic of the future of tribal museums in a rapidly changing society. And everyone talked about their perspective and each object. Several people spoke about how each object is connected to their memories and experiences. It was also decided in the meeting that when a tribal museum is started in Nilambur in the future, it should be set up in a way that gives priority to the ideas and perspectives of the tribals. Today was a good experience.
